    is it the traditional music your'e after or the 70's/80's stuff? I do recall hearing simon and garfunkel on the episode, 'felling groovy', which I thought was a bit strange? just seen the clip again, it's a russian polka, what i don't know...house boss might know?

    Strange shape for a tree

    isn't it caused by a fungal infection or insect attack? there is a tree in our local wood nearly bent double on itself. It's a good size tree 12-15ft and looks rather bizzare. nice saw by the way. why don't make a proper blade protector from leather?

    Bird ID please

    does the edge of the main feather have a comb like effect? That will identify it well for an owl. what is the underside of the main feather like in colour? big question is what killed it? could be poisoning? shootking?

    Bowlander I know th Coquet valley, do most of my walking and mountain biking round there. One of my best memories was sitting on a hill above Alwinton and watching an A10 thunderbolt, drop down and tear a old tank or vehicle to bits! truly impressive even from our distance (4-5 miles away).

    dipper, nice photo indeed. gets it's name from the dipping motion. often seen swimming in the water, like in the back of the photo.

    Probably fox, we have a few down in the dene and woods. I always thought otter....bang goes my theory. I need to poke around a bit more.
