Thanks George. The link is very useful. Thinking back I think it was natural foam. I put water purification tablets in my water from the source. I guess this doesn't make a difference to farm pollutants etc.? Pete

I have noticed occassionally that in some burns and streams froth collecting at the sides away from the current. Is this an indication of pollution?

Sounds awesome Chalarino! It's wise to camp a couple of one-nighters to build your confidence and see how you go from there. Obviously, you're not too far from the Scottish Borders where you could camp freely (within reason!). Pete

Recently went camping starting near Newton Stewart and around Loch Dee. Has anyone been there? I found it to be such a beautiful place, but the majority of paths on the OS maps for the area, do not exist in reality! Pretty difficult to navigate sometimes.
