When I am out camping in my bivi bag, I keep my boots on and wear a change of socks, arctic socks and maybe another thin pair of socks with old berghaus boot liners (from the late 1980s). These are now damaged and now looking for a pair of waterproof socks. They must be as warm as possible to...
What’s our packable favourite cooking pan/pot and mug and why
As most of you know my favourite cooking mug is my crusader because it’s solid and bomb proof.
My favourite pan is my msr alpine stowaway 775 set used for a long time and always reliable, easy to clean.
After the thread about hexi stoves , thinking only thinking about a packable and cheap wood stove. Seen this one wondered if anyone used this or a similar product.
Those who have used one in the past or presently own the 4S Outer. Ignoring the pack size which doesn’t bother me what they like to sleep in, in the colder months. What’s your overall opinion.

Stringtown supplies...
Not after any MTP Clothing, just wondering. There doesn’t seem to much in the way of surplus trousers or smocks in this pattern anymore. Certainly from strikeforce supplies who I often bought from in the past.
Anyone know why ?
Looking at trying something else other than my favourite hexi. Anyone know the difference between the Coleman 442 stove or the 533. Both seem to use Coleman or unleaded fuel.
Help me out here ?
Just bought a decent make softshell and although they are hard wearing, boy they are cold and that’s just walking around town. How many layers needed for the hills they are designed for probably too many.
I like a fleese like a polartec 300 and wanted to try a softshell. Why...

How popular are these ranger shirts still. Had a couple over the years, now just have one left and I’ve probably worn it twice. Now prefer fleese top or a wool jumper.
Sadly running short of my favourite hexi and haven’t used esbit tablets for many many years. Does anyone still use esbit and what is it like compared to my faithful hexi ?
Please don’t mention dragon fuel as an alternative, hate it, rubbish
Looking to get a Woolpower 400 or 600 but not sure if I should get a XL or an XXL, I am a 46 inch chest. Anyone own either of them. What do you recommend.
I do love a warm sleeping and don’t care about it’s weight but recently my Alpkit skyhigh 800 like all others makes Rab etc, except for military issue I feel trapped in them legs can’t move which wakes me up. I know they are designed to be snug but nowadays just too snug, I feel trapped in...
