    weather on the web?

I use the farmers weekly weather site. Type in your postcode and it gives you the weather taken from the closest farm with a FWI weather post on it. It's not let me down yet. http://www.fwi.co.uk/Weather/Local.aspx

    Boots on a budget...

Deffinately go a size up if you go for the JP Countrymans. They lace up quite snug. I'm a size 11 so i go for a 12, whatever boot i get. Leaves room for expansion and a thick pair of Army issue socks, or two. Regards.

    Wonderful Fungi ID

    Tri colour PLCE bergen

Rob, Like you, I used my Issue Longback for most of my forces career and still do. Great kit. It might not be as comfortable as civvy gear but nothing in the forces ever is! It does it's job amazingly well. I use a berghaus bergen occasionally. But i always find myself coming back to my...

my first figure four deadfall with pics and trigger video

Great stuff Mike. A really solid construction that could make a superb dead fall for catching small game! It could be turned into a good trap by reducing the friction on your points of leverage. It'll take a few attemtps to get it to a "hair trigger" standard but it's deffinately do-able...

    Cache?

Personally not a fan of a Cache within the UK. Way too many variables in my honest opinion. Leaving a water supply is something i'd never do. a cache is something that is used alot in the forces. I've often been subjected to having to shuttle kit from a cache to an LUP and it's not a fun...
