    Have I dropped a clanger?

Hi Folks For the last couple of months I've been infusing plums in brandy for a bit of festive tipple following pretty much the same process I've used for sloe gin and apple'n'blackberry brandy in the past. However someone has suggested that the fruit should have had the stone completely removed...

This will probably appear in a couple of places and for that I apologise – but I really need informed opinion so …. just acquired the pictured lump from a cherry tree a mate had felled – what is the best way of conditioning it now to make the best of it? Cheers tel

    Matching Scales

Hi - Just wondering what the preferred method of matching scales is amongst you folk. Do you place them so the blade is in between what would have been a solid block, or flip them so that the pattern/grain is similar when viewed from either side (does that make sense)? Also, to what level of...

    Drill size for handle pins?

Hi I'm sure it must have been done but I've read/viewed a stack of handle making stuff and can't find it. When drilling scales for pins is it the norm to use a drill the same size as the pin, or oversize to allow for glue space? thanks tel

Hi - as an aside to the current thread on acquiring stamps for leatherwork, what kind of image/quality is needed to produce a half-decent stamp? elder lookalike?

Typically without camera or phone earlier, I came across a tree that at first looked like an elder but the berries (similarly distributed on the plant) whilst the same colour were much more robust, with a seed that almost filled the fruit. The other giveaway was that whilst all the other elders...

    Land ownership

I, like most here I would think, spend a lot of my travelling time spotting this or that piece of land and thinking of it in terms of a place to camp.
