    Adders as overnight companions

Thanks for that really helpful reply JD. Very reassuring. I wouldn't have considered more than a very closely controlled meths burner brew and heat a can of something if the ground was damp. I regard it as a privilege to be able to observe such rich wildlife on a daily basis and try to be...

    Adders as overnight companions

There are a few people posting on this forum who may be able to help with this. I'm a daily visitor to a forested lowland heath just East of York well known to herpetologists. It seems to have been a good year for adders this year as I've seen far more than over the last decade (this could be...

I like the look of their Morgedal anorak, which I think someone else has reviewed elsewhere. I've just bought a german flecktarn smock for £14 though, and it'll take me ages...

    Has Anyone found "THE" Knife?

I love the one off Dave Budd I bought at the knife fair last year, but it's way too big to carry and use on a daily basis. The one I turn to for peeling spuds, sharpening pencils, cutting twine, eating, removing spelks from my hands, and just about everything else on a daily basis is a very...

    Children's Bushcraft

I whittled my lad, who is 5, a little bowie 'letter opener' from holly, and stabilised the, shall we say 'functional end' with wood hardener. Depends what you want to call it I guess, but he definately likes it! Maybe a hand carved spoon, mug, pan stirrer or porridge spurtle 'd be more likely to...
