    Favourite, NON scandi knife

My Barkies, Izula II, SAK's and my Spydie Natives all in my hands as much as any of my scandi "bushcraft" knives Love the Bark river convex for all round use and just got a American Knife Company Forest knife on order based on that (and my love of the Skookum!) Can't take anything away from a...

    Baldric type sheath

Hey guys…….. I'm after a sheath for a baldric type carry for an 8" knife (BCNW-01) Nice leather, does not need a belt loop, needs a fire steel loop and to be carried under my right arm using a paracord sling. Shipped to B.C. Canada. Thanks muchly in advance Marc

Anyone had a Citroen Dispatch Combi?

Had the peugeot expert van (which I think is identical to the dispatch) and it was the best vehicle I ever owned, never a hint of a problem other than the usual wear and tear parts like brakes. Mine was the 2.0l HDi, it went like hot snot and got great mpg's too, something like 55 on a run. I...

What's the most versatile handle material

I like Micarta, some of it and done well can be just as easy on the eye as tree wood…. had my micarta handled blades in cold of below -20 and up to +35 including getting wet and have no issues with them at all. But then I have had Puukko type knives out in the same and had no problems...

Man, thats nice! Design-wise, not for me but for finish and getting the best our materials that's just stunning! Loving ironwood myself right now having got my last knife with it but that's a lovely piece……..waaaay nicer than mine!

two neckers with neck/armpit carry sheaths

I have always admired the BCNW but never really liked the look of the bamboo so I bit the bullet and got mine with nice desert ironwood scales with white liners because I wanted a knife that was keeper and easy on the eye as well as useful!

two neckers with neck/armpit carry sheaths

Those I like! I hope you don't mind me saying they are a little like the BCNW-01 in the pics......... which I have just got and love it, so I would like these. Nice use and placement of the hollow pins and very nice looking, usable knives........ I look forwards to the dimensions (not that I...

    Swanndri treatment?

No shortage of land here, Kamloops is pretty good growing/farming land and lots of it about although a lot of it is semi-desert and gets very hot but the Okanagan looks something else judging by the amount of orchards, vineyards/wineries, farming etc........... I also understand that it is very...

    Swanndri treatment?

Does anyone know of anything to do to make my Swanny less itchy? Such as washing it/treating in something? Its bearable but wearing all weekend during a hunting trip got a bit uncomfortable! Thanks in advance Marc

    Field archery forum?

Archery Talk although it tends to sometimes end up a gong show with a few regular bickerers on the "traditional" forum...... I always preferred the US forums for what I wanted, seems some of their (traditional) archery techniques are more progressive and often more simplified.......sometimes...

Hunting knife used as bushcraft knife?

Most of the hunting knives I have had or used have had a hollow grind. Not fond of hollow grinds, the only grind I can't get on with.

    Leather sheath vs synthetic sheath

Don't really think either is better....... That said, if I wanted safety and a secure hold of the knife then kydex (if that's what you mean by synthetic) is awesome for that, and I personally love kydex sheaths and use them on most of my synthetic handled knives, I do this also because it looks...

    Advice on dog whistle

What they said........ just get one with a ridge on the top so you can hold it in your teeth when you're working your dogs. Surprising how you miss that!

    Lost interest

I have several big passions in my life but the my longest love has always been fishing but I have found myself drifting in and out sometimes for long periods without even giving it a thought, even now, living in one of the great (trout lake fly & game) fishing meccas in the world....... bah...

New Bushy design. (lots of pics)

I like it, design makes a lot of sense for many tasks. Clones are ok and usually a proven design but there are tons of them about so, in my opinion, breaking the mold a bit is a good thing, and for you a likely seller. There is always someone out there who goes out and does it and finds what's...

    Thinking about a Flat bow

I'm a huge fan of Bearpaw bows and would recommend them to anyone, although "mass produced" they are made by hand. Falcos are tasty but as are some of the cheaper ones like your Samicks, internature etc. and it you can get hold of reflex/deflex or hybrid longbow then all the better (these are...

How do I stop getting bit?

If there are any flying bitey things about they just love me and I come up in big lumps from the Skeeters out here......... in fact this week I got hit by a wasp, which hurt but it was over in a breath and I would take one of those over a Mozzy bite any day! So, I have tried it all from taking...

    Flemish twist bowstring.

I've just got into building my own strings and found a couple of issues: There are a few plans online for string jigs one of which I made despite constantly being advised to make the one in Anthony Cameras "Shooting the stickbow" (a book I own) which I made but ended up being so far out given...
