    Firesteel in rain

Athough I've started fires many times with the swedish firesteel, I've failed last time during a rain. Could anyone help me out what should I do in similar circumstances? So, it was raining already for three days when we went to the woods. We have put up a tarp - to protect from direct rainfall...

    Acorn bread

I've tried a few years ago, but after 4-5 water change, it was still awful bitter, and I gave up. Maybe I was just too impatient?

    Mors' try-stick

Kepis, thanks for the video, but it's not what I'm talking about. Btw, I really like your blog :) The image from the pdf: So it is made by hollowing, and not by removing the whole bark in one piece, like on the video. I'd like to know how to hollow this regular cylinder form with one knife only.

    Mors' try-stick

Great videos, but they use drill and other tools. I'm curious to know the bushcraft-way, with a knife only :) However I've already made whistle from willow bark, it is different, because you should hollow out the stick itself. So any images or videos showing this?

    Mors' try-stick

I've seen a pdf description of the try stick, (I don't know where does it came from, in the header there is "bushcraftuk.com"). On the try stick, #11 is a whistle. I'd like to know if anybody have made it, and how? I don't really understand, why is that placed in the middle of the stick, instead...

    Bear Grylls Wild Living

It's a great book, unlike Bear's Tv show. It's very well written, reminds me of Baden-Powell's Scouting for Boys. However I got confused on p. 114. Purified water should be kept in dark containers or under cover, as ultra-violet rays from the sun can neutralize the effect of your purifying...

New Book: The Survival Handbook in Association with the Royal Marines Commandos

There is no question that the two books are almost the same. Pictures are the same, but the text is not, however very similar. And I would like to know if the errors were also fixed as the author promised a few posts before. So if anybody had the chance to compare them please inform us. I really...

New Book: The Survival Handbook in Association with the Royal Marines Commandos

Does anyone know the differences between 'The Survival Handbook in Association with the Royal Marines Commandos' and the'Survival Skills' (both by Colin Towell)? Is that one only the pocket edition, or have any other major changes? Sample pages on the linked site shows that there are some...
