    a meths question....

I take a both a trangia set and a hexy stove and mess tins as a secondary, as well as using a fire as much as I can. The trangia I find was a great investment, worth spending the money on, had years of service from it, meths is only £1.49 for a small bottle round the corner from me, most places...

    Tried making nettle cordage.

Totally smother your hands in mud, this will provide some hand protection against stings in the absence of gloves .

    Bowdrill fire problem

I fortunately live not too far from the coast, I acquired a limpet shell from here, for they make great bearer "blocks", very smooth inside, almost zero friction on your spindle top. Just to make it spin even more freely, I spit into the shell before starting.

    Pot hanging

I'm now getting off thread a bit, but that's something I've been meaning to post about. When going on expeditions, usually around North and Mid Wales, I sometimes struggle to locate suitable parking within a reasonable distance of a site, say 30 mins to an hours walk as I do haul quite a bit of...

    Caching supplies.

I've got a cache which I keep maintained. Not gonna say where tho. I keep it in two plastic lidded buckets which I got from a "grow" shop for a fiver a piece. Mostly I keep tinned food, rice and stuff there, but also bits of paracord, some tea lights and some bog roll.

    Titanium Spork?

I don't see any justification for "forking" out on a titanium spork, I just have a plastic one. In case it breaks on me I have a second plastic one. But I do own a titanium KFS set, £22 that was, absolute ripoff.

    Squirrel question

Understood, I guess theres not much chance of me bagging one by this method then. While I doubt my landlord would object to this, the only way I could do it is if the squirrel actually came onto the ground in my garden and since I own a german shepherd the little blighters seem to be deterred...

    Squirrel question

Does anyone know would it be illegal to shoot a squirrel (with an air pistol) in my own back garden?, bearing in mind that I rent the property I do not own it. Also there is no danger, should I miss that a pellet could go anywhere near a road or any other such public space, just curious.
