I'll second that :)
I bought a dehydrator a few months ago and have been building up a collection of nutritious delights then vacuum packing them and storing in my basement along with many other implements previously mentioned here. Water containers, gravity purifiers etc etc...
As Stardust...
I've been through loads of cheapo head torches. I recently splashed out on a Primus PrimeLite Plus. It's awesome..
As the old saying goes: "You get what you pay for" :)
Got my Charge TTi from Amazon for £99 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Leatherman-830684-Charge-Leather-Sheath/dp/B000LGBPZC

I know it's not live prey but still pretty weird. I was with a friend at a lake fishing and as he was setting up his rod a crow swooped down and took his reel.. OK it was a small reel but man I was in stitches! Had to lend him my spare reel for the day
For an all round read covering many aspects of bushcraft & survival I couldn't recommend the new and updated ultimate SAS survival book by John 'Lofty' Wiseman any more...... Epic...
Used only a couple of Scandi's for quick tent pegs so not really qualified to form a proper opinion. I just love my flat grind Spyderco Sage to bits so voted flat :)
Thanks guys much appreciated. I prefer some extra room and tbo I don't really like the mummy style bag. I know what their advantages are but I'm not going to use it for expeditions to the north pole so it's highly unlikely it'll be used in temperatures below -10 to - 15 C (UK winter). The...

Thanks.
What would you lot suggest as a good snare wire material?
Been looking around B&Q and the like but still not convinced on any particular wire... Not that I'm likely to use them but I'm trying to complete my absolute essential survival kit which also includes snares for trapping rabbits...
I'm kinda with you there Peter. Unless you're in a hand to hand 'get to the chopper!' combat situation I can't see why spending loads of money on a piece of kit that does 10 jobs when a more practical alternative would (in most situations) service hundreds. If the enemy were heading towards me I...
LOL
Haha hey Ginge beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I happen to think it's a beauty of a design both ergonomically and aesthetically but hey each to their own. Suppose it's more of a 'carry everywhere, do everything EDC knife' than "Survival" and that's why I also like the 3 inch blade...
Hey Catcher I've had the same dilemma. Spent weeks reading up and watching reviews, hard work deciding.. I've eventually settled on the 'Spyderco Sage' just purchased it today... Will let you know what I think when it arrives :)
