    Pocket book "apps"

I used to go out with a pocket guide, but with the advent of all these clever "take a pick and let AI identify it" has anyone got some recommendations for free/paid apps which have effectively replaced your pocket guide for the short bimbles in the wood? There's obviously hundreds in the app...

Knife - using one of those new fangled waterjet thingymajigs.

So, I've volunteered myself to make knifes. Well, teach others to. So need to work out how to do it myself. I've done some tracing on some knife blanks and I think I like this one. I'm cutting it out on our "Wazer" which is a hobbyist waterjet cutter. Much more bushcrafty than an angle...

Forest Knights / Sussex Bushcraft Club Xmas Meal

Had the pleasure of attending the Forest Knights & Sussex Bushcraft Club Xmas Meal. Whilst the woodland has had a fair bit of logging due to ash dieback, we were easily able to find a place to hammock and get down to the hard job of drinking some mulled cider. I didn't get a pic of the meal...

    Thanks!

Thanks Tony & Co, Mods, Forest Knights etc for a good weekend. Kasia had a blast and was asleep 20 minutes into the trip home. Sounds peaceful but she was up all night having been well rested! I hope nobody minded the Kasia whooping through the woods too much. I hope to attend again next...

    Alone series 8 spoiler thread

If you've not seen it, or don't want to have it spoilt, best to avoid this thread... Episode 3, when they mentioned she was eating cow parsley, I was "well, I can't tell the difference and she's very close to water, and she has been vomitting..." eating water hemlock, not great. Sent from...

    Alone Series 8, Ep 2

Good to see Theresa on Alone S8, especially as she got a "This is the first time an Alone participant has attempted to build a pit house" overlay. We've been watching the comments on Youtube and it's fairly clear that some people put your ability to survive bears based on whether you wear ear...

Hi All Got a woodland you want some water from? Whilst I don't think you'd want to drink straight from the source, you may be able to boil it up, or wash in it. Used once, a manual 13m well drilling kit (used to bore a well in thick clay in deepest sussex), so preloved. Still in very good...

    Heavy Duty Trolley

Last Thursday we ventured down to sunny Sussex to join the forest knights on the one off mini moot. Waynes site is lovely, but not one you can park in the middle of and requires a small bimble around the edge of a ploughed field. I fancied an offroad style of trolley, but felt £70 was probably...

    Autumn Moot / Winter Moot

Since Paddy cursed the summer moot, I thought I'd curse the next two. Is there going to be an autumn and or winter? Winter appears on the listing, but I have a hankering for both. Go on go on go on go on... October half term looks good. Halloween naughty corner... Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000...

    Wintermoot recipes

Just wondering if others can add some of their recipes! The osaka style okonomiyaki (おこのみやき) recipe can be found in many places, but I used this: https://www.foodrepublic.com/recipes/osaka-style-okonomiyaki-recipe/ (or one similar, steps look about the same!) And to answer Mr Crumps question...

    Fixing rawhide to mallet

I have a lathe turned mallet and some dog chew rawhide which I've soaked and unrolled. How do I fix the rawhide to the mallet? It's quite damp, not sure if it's a glue job or something that needs little nails or sommat. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk

    Lanktoo IP65 Lantern

I bought two of these smart little lanterns from Amazon for the winter moot. I paid £21 but they've been as low as £14, so worth keeping tabs on camelcamelcamel with them to look for the right price. They are part of a series, with lots of versions floating about. Some have got clocks...
