    well, in the " wilderness " of the netherlands , you often need no more than a pocketknife, the Glock was given to me ,i would not buy one myself, for me it is a jack of all trades, i am not a person for fancy expensive knives, i use stuff, it has to be durable and it does the job.

    I often carry a glock 78 fieldknife on my backpack, i would like to drill trough the handle to get a lanyard trough, did any one do this , what's inside ??, or do i just demolish a very good knife, what the hell are these holes on both sides for ? , what is your experience with the glock knive ??

    Dutch army and marines are issued now with a new load bearing vest, wich replaces the old model wich had a alice clip system, and laces on the sides to make it the right size. Our soldiers saying i want to fight with my gear, not against it, wich would be nice when using it in Uruzgan. Strange...

    If i had the choice i would go for the real army one, try a dutch army one, it comes in a green solid rubber pouch and they cost next to nothing, trust me i digged some holes with one, never had one broken, stay away from the cheap aluminium look alikes they are worth nothing !!, i saw the nato...

    i agree , i never used a fishing line also , maybe a twist of the mind ,i don't know, but i like to think, it is not really a survival tin but more or less a back up for if things go wrong, why not take only a cell phone to the barren lands and order a pizza ??.

    I have to admid, never used mine also, but then again you,ll never know what is on your path out there, never carry a cell phone also, it has about the same weight, but then i go for the tin, i dead celphone ,or one that is out of range does not help me in any way.

    especcially in a hand wich is a complex piece of art ,with sinew, mussel and tissue, a lot can go wrong, if been cut trough to the bone, as Dave says, chances are you cut one of these, chances are ,some fingers will never work again.
