A few of the workshops expect at the Moot

On a less formal basis, there are usually crafty things happening around the Steam Tent corner. We think of them as “Craft Jams” where people just sit and work on whatever they are up to or into, in a generally creative social group. I have a few jobs I will be working on, I think Aaron will...

Who’s Going to the First Summer Moot at Rough Close?

    Aluminium Potjie

Much the same as my feelings. Any fool can be uncomfortable and life is too short for ugly kit. Canvas time for me is about comfort and enjoyment these days.

    Aluminium Potjie

With due respect I use pots on cooking fires, not infernal conflagrations. 660 degrees is far too hot for cooking. :-D

    Aluminium Potjie

Fair enough on a stove but definitely not what I need when I have a lid full of ashes or coals and I want to check how things are underneath.

    Aluminium Potjie

A few years ago I bought a small potjie from the bring and buy stall at the Bushmoot. When I picked it up off the table I was immediately impressed with how little it weighed. Turned out that despite looking like a cast iron pot it was made of aluminium. It has been a regular part of my camp...
