Recommendations for 'legal' wild camping sites in south/mid england

Hi, A group of friends and I are looking for somewhere that we can basically hire a bit of woodland where we can have a first small group winter foray into wild camping. We're all a considerate bunch, and while a couple of us have some bushcraft skills, the others are novices - hence...

    My first bushcrafting....

Yes, and its so simple. Almost like genetic memory or something....I sort of 'knew' what to do, and felt happy doing it. Perhaps the best bit was seeing a wild stag as we walked to our camp spot. We both stopped, stared at each other for a minute or so, then went our seperate ways. Loved...

After much much much procrastination, I decided to plump for a DD3x3 tarp. After exchanging a few emails with the lovely people at DD, I ordered it, and it arrived the next day (great service). I also plumped for a length of the £4 cord they have started selling. First impressions: Very...

URGENT if your children have mobile phones

he main worrying thing for me is that its so open to abuse. For example, say I am a stalker/ex/estranged husband/loony/guy with a restraining order/whatever, the act of just receiveing a communication this way would, I think, be extremely distressing.

    Karrimor boots

A friend of mine has a pair, he really likes them. I plumped up the extra cash for a pair of Brashers though, which I have abused for months and they still look new. Comfy from the second they went on too.

The Essential Kit Guide - tips for newbies (like me....)

I've been trawling around drooling over various bits of kit, feeling slightly confused. I might be wrong here, but there are soem differences in 'essential' hiking/trekking kit and 'essential' bushcraft kit. I know they are different disciplines, but for me there is a massive overlap. So...
