    Hi I am new to the Bushmoot and was hoping to come along this year, Is there an option just to come along for the day with my kids. not able to stay for the night as I am on call at work. very aware of the restrictions in Wales but I am assuming there will be plenty going on.

    Good ideas for stuff to make with children :)

    how about stuff to make on a fire. e.g. chocolate oranges or banana's, exactly as they sound, get an orange, put a slit in the top stuff it with 6 or 7 chocolate buttons, foil wrap it and put on the fire for 15 mins or so.

    you are correct that's a pressure stove and does require an inner wall. oops sorry. but its a great idea, may make them with my scouts i take it simple tools, wire cutters and a little patience will be ok.

    this can be advanced, put the lid on the tin and drill very small holes around the inside edge of the lid aprox 1 cm apart, this allows the stove to then function in a similar way to a trangia burner, spreads the heat and makes the fuel last longer for the same amount of heat to cook with.

    the wood is silver birch, when cut it had a black and varied colouring in it not really sure why. my fiancee brought me some carving tools for Christmas so this was my first use of them, want to make a kuska at some point.

    have spent most of the day working on this. I had a set of wood carving tools of my good lady for Christmas so thought i would have a go at carving a kuska, got a burr and started by shaping the basic bowl, then shaped the handle and carved some basic shaped detail, next started shaping the bowl...
