Sabre 75 not comfortable - what am I doing wrong

Thanks for the replies. 5'10" 178cm 77kg medium build. Gut 93cm at its max. I had to put extra foam in the 45 belt for a better fit but the belt on the 75 is more comfortable it just does stop the droop at the back. The belt is attached to the outer shell of the pack but that part of the...

Sabre 75 not comfortable - what am I doing wrong

I have a sabre 45 and 75. The 45 is great, even at heavy loads it sticks to my back and I do not have to lean forward to balance. But the 75 is extremely uncomfortable, the belt doesn't seem stuck to the back of the pack so the bottom of the back seems to flop down like a beer belly resulting...

    Article: Basic First Aid

With respect to the quality of water you treat a burn with. I had a friend who got the burning skipping rope wrapped round his arm at the Thai full moon party. He got serious burns, his friends basically threw him in some very questionable water. back in Sydney he was treatedby the top burn...

    Toughest boots bar none?

Used to think Meindls but no longer. One sole peeled off while I was on top of mountain and I had to poke holes in the boot and sew it back together with cord. Contacted Meindl in Australia where I live and they flicked me to New Zealand. New Zealand said it wasn't their problem as I bought...

Willem Dafoe's rucksack in the film..The Hunter

If you get enough buyers you could probably have them posted sea mail at a reasonable rate. I emailed Peter Marshall at Crossfire pm@crossfire.com.au he's happy to post by sea mail (anywhere between 1 and 3 months from AUstralia to UK) his only concern was to check for any hidden import duty...

    Long distance walk advice please

I did lots of practice for a 100km walk but never close to 100km in one shot. On the day around 60km I got butt chaffing - who'd have thought. Anyway should this occur to you DONT use sticky plasters, baby powder's the way to go.

    Bear Grylls- Urban Survivor

Well said, there seem to be alot of people here spend a lot of time watching something they don't approve of. I wonder if many chefs or professional tradesmen get as excited in their disdain for some cooking and home improvement shows. Maybe its just the bushcraft equivalent of 20,000 over...

Survival Course with the Air Force Cadets

How about you give them some survival training, minimal equipment then send them on a navigational exercise involving an overnight camp and tell them they are being hunted. Not only does it make it more exciting for them but it means you can keep an eye on them. Obviously you'd have to set...

Bow drill wood choice, limited options...

I had the same problem here in NSW, Australia. I found this site www.bobcoopersurvival.com and sent them an email. Bob very kindly wrote me out these guidelines. Try any fast grow parts of plants or medium hard woods – the test is, if you shave of some bark and can make an indent with...

Missing British backpacker found alive after 12 days in Australian bush...

I agree that food and shelter are priorities and that in theory you can go several weeks without food. But when you read about actual events or even watch shows like Survivorman where he actually tries these things out, given water and shelter, the lack of food has a big effect on your physical...
