Snowdonia two day wild camp invite

Make it the following week and you guys can come with me - it will be well worth it to have someone who knows their way around as a guide - unless of course you are intending visiting the hotspots, in which case, just follow the crowd.

    Canadian canoe expedition 2012

Aye, real shame if it doesn't take place. Chance in a lifetime trip if you ask me. Mind you, I can understand people thinking twice about sigining up as, taking the flights into account, it's a good £1,500 that has to be found. Not all of us are fortunate enought to have that kind of...

    Canadian canoe expedition 2012

Is this expedition still taking place, and are there any places left, as I am interested in coming and have only just discovered it. It just seems a bit odd to me that there have been no postings since September!

    Londoner Escapism - Wild Camp?!

Metropolitan Line to Watford - 10 minutes walk and you are in Whippendell woods. I'm often out the of a friday night, camp fire hammock/bivvy bag and dog. Only downside is the slight hum of the M25 but you get used to that. Get in touch if you want company.

Thanks to Shewie and Highbinder especially. i'll look at both your suggestions. I'be just packed up for a 4 day trip starting tomorrow morning. Even with the 1.5 kilo bag I have, 2 days food and 650 mil of water, I've managed to keep the wieght down to 10 kilos. I'm trying out the snugpak...

Granite Gear Virga Rucksack - any opinions on this ultralight sack?

I am considering buying this sack - details here: http://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/granite_gear_virga_rucksack.html I am attracted by its very light wieght of only 550 grams - thats a whole kilo less than the 65litre bag I use now. And it looks like I can if necessary strap a...

    Kit you wouldn't recommend

... and you can light a fire in them. Which is why I really like them. I leave the burner at home and use the casing as a hobo stove.

A History of Ancient Britain (BBC)

I saw the broadcast. Highly recommended, see it on iplayer if you can. The last 15 minutes - the bushceafty bit - is a real treat, but the whole programme is excellent.
