    SAK Vs Leatherman

    SAK fan here....I just can't warm up to the Leatherman type tools; they seem too much like tools, while a SAK is more "knifey"

    I convex mine; sandpaper 220 grit or so up to 800 grit or so, then leather hone with black/green compound......fast to re-sharpen, pops hair....

    I have a Penobscot Bay kindling axe, worked over by Off The Map Outfiters; I really like it. I had to thin the edge a bit for my needs, but overall, its worth looking at.

    re blowing: you only need to blow enough to disturb the rising smoke, that should be enough.....also, try it using a chair; I have a bad knee and can't kneel down, using a chair is much more ergonomic....
