    Tiger water colour painting

Cheers for the advice, I can see where you mean. Just don't have the skills to correct water colours. I'll put up pics of any oils/acylics I end up doing for critique if you don't mind? It's the first time i've done anything other than birds with watercolours, should really take some lesson as...

    Tiger water colour painting

I've not painted anything for about 10 years now with the last things some abstract oils of russian miners! Got the itch yesterday on arriving home from work and finished off this Tiger water colour. I'm really pleased with how it came out so treated myself to a mounting cutter. The mount is...

    Papuan carpet python

Indeed a very beautiful animal I would of much rather taken photos of it alive and well. i wouldn't have been so happy to see a Papuan black snake whilst tramping down that road though. Very unfortunate and there must only be 2-3 wagons down/up this road a day. Not sure I'll make anything...

    Papuan carpet python

A small (2m isn) Papuan carpet python had been hit by a vehicle on one of the bush roads near where i'm working in PNG. The big sea eagles you get around here had yet to do their worst (most snakes don't last long all the big ones within hours are a heaving mess). They are really beautiful...

Fur on deer hide tanning (PICTRE HEAVY)

Thanks, though hats off to you for taking on so many you have done a top job so far. My skins have always been alum tanned (it was something i was taught to do since a child by my father) and the oil stage was just to make the hide supple and soft. I'd suggest that this needs to be done after...

Fur on deer hide tanning (PICTRE HEAVY)

I make mine soft and flexible by using neatsfoot oil and dragging over the edge of a thick piece of glass (a burnished edge table) and it works a treat. Doesn't take long to work then up and they become nice and flexible even if left to go hard before. bison skin is on my list of must do never...

    Papua New Guinea

To be honest i think the Ozzys over egg it a bit. The most dangerous places are the cities (Port Moresby not very pleasant) but if you have travelled in developed countries its no great shakes (places to avoid, minimal trip out in urban area after dark, not looking like a tourist etc). I never...
