An Optimus 8R

My overtly active friend emptied `both` Attics while I was away.

(my house has an annexe, hence there being two attics. So I have a lot of attic space)

So I have been dilligently sorting though the things.

Ive found many strange and marvelous items (as you would expect)

Not a lot of suprises in the bushcraft line.

Except an Optimus 8R

what fuel does it use?

Coleman fuel or cheaper panel wipe or Aspen 4T (Chainsaw fuel)

unleaded according to this link but i only googled it to find out what an optimus 8r was and this came up http://alex-holden.livejournal.com/80943.html looks a bit like some ive seen others on the forum using so sure an expert will be along shortly to assist, think panel wipe may be an option to?

Don't run on unleaded, it will gunk up due to the additives. When these stoves were designed we didn't put even half the cr@p in fuel that we do now.

I have one and it was advertised as using unleaded, works great but as widu13 says, additives have changed some over the years.
Going into the garage for a while to give it a hug.

Buy a tin of lighter fluid Tengu to first try it out. If you have any problems and it does not work let me know and I'll talk you through fixing it up.
