Had a great day yesterday up in my local woods tracking critters. Managed to follow a badger for at least a 1/2 of a mile as he ambled around his territory and met up with other animals along the way.

Cheers guys, I love getting out first thing after a night of snow. Always amazes me how busy the woods get when we all go to bed.

Good post! I like it. I just was wondering about the hedgehog, here in this part of Italy (Alps, means cold!) they are impossible to find in winter.
Well done!

This little fella is using one of the outlying badgers setts to hibernate in. You don't normally see them in winter here either, but he comes out regularly.

I went out a couple of weeks ago and got a few shots, and I think I can recognize them. It's difficult to get a good pic because the snow was so deep - nearly 40 cm.
