Although, having got one in stainless, and one in aluminium, I am slightly underwhelmed by the stainless version for the sole reason of heat transfer - When cooking a stew, the burner creates a hotspot on the base of the pot, causing food to stick too often, whereas the aluminium pots seem to spread the heat out faster.

Oh, and I very nearly melted the windshield the other week, that's aluminium on both types !

The stainless is very robust, and I actually enjoy using these cookers.

I've seen the Al pot melt (boiled low, hot fire), so I won't use the Al unless I have to. Got 5 or 6 of the steel pots, and a couple of Al ones. But only one alcohol burner setup, they are a bit of a compromise, IMHO, so it is part of the "useful kit that lives in the car, but does not see much actual usage" (a real Trangia is better as a liquid fuel stove).
