Change of plan. I'm going to be using my hammock again. The tundra and firebox are just to big for one man. Firecrest, I've now got a 2nd hammock setup. Do you want to try one out. Give me a shout and I'll bring both along.

That could be an idea.... Maybe you could put it in the boot and I try it out at middlewood? Im a little worried by the whole `middlemud` thing, I dont think my tent will stand up to boggy ground. Hopefully Ill be able to come to both meets , if Im not selling nothing on the stall it wont be worth me going every week, or perhaps I could send a professional representative *coughmymumcough!* to have a go at running the stall for an afternoon. seems a shame to miss a whole weekend meet for a few hours on a market stall!

is that for the meet or personal use Im not sure if bernie was going to use wood, charcoal or a combination

I'm Supplying the porker for the spit roast and the gear.but don't know the fuel situation,Wayland, Gary said we'd be better off with charcoal,as there's not enough spare wood about there,to slow spit the porker will need at least 10 hours fuel.:)

I have to agree. Bringing in charcoal guarantees that we'll have an amount of fuel. The sites crew normally drop a fair few trees in the quiet months so that, to a great extent, sorts out the prime camping months for next year.

I have to cancel an up coming holiday which now coincides with an operation (I have to have a local for what would normally be done under general anesthetic

). I'll rearrange these holiday days for the days running up to the Meet and depending whether I'm fit for the exertion, I'll try to get on site to try to get something sorted to cover the extra we may need.

Locals are great, I find I recover from the effects of anesthetic much quicker with them as ive low blood pressure and generals just ruin me. I got a bit worried on the last one but seditive rearly helps, along with all the banter with the staff during the opp.

I'd like to be pencilled in as a maybe, depends how cold it is, as you know Oli is still young and I'd rather not give him a bad experience and put him off camping.
We now have under blankets so I guess the nights would be warm enough just a bit worried about being out all day in potentially freezing weather, although with the good old British weather it could be T-shirts and lollies all round!

Just a warning to the wise.

Charcoal is getting difficult to find now, If you haven't already got some start looking now.

At the Middlewood meet we needed almost every bag that was brought to get the pig done.

I will have just a few bags that Womble bought for Middlewood which will be available for what she paid for it, which was £5 a bag.

We will need more than that though.

Ill buy one of wombles if they are still going, I lack my own transport so me getting charcoal is hard.
