I thought I'd show and tell my latest creation - a gardening knife for my Dad's birthday. The design was both of our work - I tried to discourage him from going for double-edges, but he's adamant this will meet his needs without leaving bits of finger in the flowerbeds!

It kind of ended up like a mini Yorkshire billhook:cool:

3mm 01 steel, blade is 80mm overall and the scales are yew burr, courtesy of Dougster.

That is a nice piece of work, the curved side of the shape reminds me of the french serpette hooks they use for vine pruning. He can keep one edge for general and one for best use? And theres probably a fair amount of weight and heft in there to do more than you could with a lighter flimsier folding opinel or something. T'would be great for doing mini kinderling by the hearth ;)
