I was thinking of getting another bike to do a few long tours this year. A 1200GS came into my mind, then I thought why not do it on a 250 trail bike or similar ? Seems to be a populate thing these days.

A 1970's W35Export .22 with the most nicely figured walnut stock I've seen on an air rifle. In fact I would say it was of exhibition grade.

Was in the shop when they unboxed five of them and purchased it before it was placed in the rack.

It hurts to this day.

If you are looking for a bit of inspiration for (very) long trips on small bikes, Lois on the Loose by Lois Pryce is a good read. :)

My 1976 VW Kombi.

Just checked the MOT status - still on the road and doing about 1500 miles a year and from the fail/advisory sheet seems to be keeping the local welder in business. :(

Safe travels old friend! :)

All my winemaking kit. I figured many years ago that my days of foraging and making country wines were all over, as I did not have room for all the stuff, so I got rid of it. In my latter days since I have an allotment and access to blackberries and elderberries in abundance I have had to replace it all.

Big hug sent. Know how you feel gave mine away twice... it's realy in a battered state now. Not enough filler left in the world and a respray is pointless. It still works though but sometimes it needs a good kick to get it going again!:)

To be honest, I would have got rid of them sooner or later. I got rid of some other "desirable" stuff before I moved, because I no longer have the luxury of a workshop. Throughout the years of motorcycling, there has always been one constant, a small Honda of some kind. So, once everything had gone, I recently bought one of these,
c4.png

It's a bit fancy compared to the old C90 cub, EfI, ABS, and suchlike, but it'll do me, and it's doing in the region of 170mpg.
Quote:
The Super Cub C125 engine returns 188.4 mpg (WMTC mode), giving a range of approx. 152 miles from the 3.7L fuel tank. All specifications are provisional and subject to change without notice.

Oh damn. A c90 was my first ever bike, what seems like several lifetimes ago.
Can't believe they are (sort of) making them again

They never really stopped, just didn't import them into the UK. The most annoying thing about the new on is no pillion. Every other country, they come with passenger foot pegs, but not here, and retro fitting equates to no insurance cover because of UK homologation. I really wanted a CC 110.

Personal import only thought. (Although there is an olive green one on ebay for £3600)

Yes I should have said importing them again.
Many many many bikes later that old c90 still has such fond memories. It was my first road vehicle of any sort too

Every Landrover I've ever parted with, and most of the air rifles!
Glad I still have my TD5 90, and my 1983 Fwb 124 Mk2.

Crossman .22 magnum my first rifle, a Gamo paratrooper (first repeater), HW 45 cup model (first quality pistol), but I have the good fortune to have found 30 years later, a mint and boxed .22 magnum, a fair condition paratrooper and have a HW 45 black star which is much better than the cup model so a little regret with a lot of good luck later! Car's maybe a MG-B-GT 67" V8 or my Mini clubman GT. Ho and some bikes like, the DT 100, MZ 250 TS, ER50, AR50

I had an mz 250 which was a great little workhorse of a bike. Start it with a lolly stick or teaspoon if you lost the key. And that rung dung dung of the single cylander two stroke, ball buster tank ,and brick seat. Ah the miles I did on that in the winter with a hot water bottle bungied to the seat to sit on and keep my bottom warm and comfy! I still hanker for an old 4 or 5 speed from the seventies. I passed my test on one in Chertsey. I felt like a real biker the day I went from a clapped out ss50 Honda to that... untill all my mates laughed their socks off at it. Didn't care though. I had a 250 cc bike and they still had mopeds!
