It's snowing!

This was my back garden at 9:00am

I'm snowed in as I can't get out of my estate. Went out and saw the chaos at the roundabout turned around and went back home. An hour wasted going less than half a mile

Apparently all the roads around me are just as bad as the amount of snow has swamped the gritting that was done.

Here at 1200’ in mid-Wales we are forecast 8-12” and have had about half of that so far and it is due to snow for the rest of the day.

All looking very scenic at the moment, the stand of leylandii that I was due to fell today have had a reprieve and the fowls are looking a bit bemused.

We have some settling on cars here in Surrey, with plenty of sleet beforehand. As I type there is a fresh fall of large flakes coming down, but it isnt heavy.

It was -6.8 when I got up this morning, and it's risen to a warm sunny -3.5 just now.

I'm in the orange band and as we're on the edges of the Chilterns we got hit by 15cm+. The wife just told me the M1 has apparently been closed by me due to a 14 car pile up

Just been out on foot to deliver a dozen eggs to a neighbour and we have definitely had our predicted foot of snow. When I got back I found our tenuous connection to the grid has just been severed - no electricity till 7.00pm at earliest. Log fire and a good book it is then.

I'm in the ? bit. It's been gales and heavy rain. If it had been snow it would have been a spectacular blizzard.

Power back on but still snowing and all schools in Powys shut tomorrow. Forecast of minus 10 tomorrow night.

All looking very scenic but not much fun for the neighbouring hill farmers (many of whom are well into their 70s) trying to get feed to their livestock.

Just been woken up at 3.20 am by all the lights coming on and various appliances beeping - second power cut which started at 10 pm now over!

A big thanks to the Western Power engineers who will have had a busy night out and about in their Defenders fixing faults. Thanks guys stay safe and keep warm!

Must be double-time for the crew to fix your outages! Have fun. Can be weekly at my place.
Resetting all the dang digital clocks gets to be a chore, yes?

We have a diesel gen set bigger than 2x 4,000hp mountain locomotives.
We can isolate the village in a 10km circle and run on our own biodiesel.
