When I am in my hammock I wear Chairman Mou fighting trousers. They were issued to me in the late 90s dont think they are on issue any more. Buffalo used to do fibre pile trousers they will keep you warm.

Wearing extra insulation does work but it's worth remembering that the compressed insulation won't be doing much if anything to keep you warm when between you and the hammock body. Clothing augments the top quilt very well but not much underneath: you'll still need a warm enough pad or underquilt

This +1 ;).

Norwegian Helly Hansen make fleece underpants/ longjohns. Super hot. As it is fleece it does not compress fully, so keeps the warmth.
Important though to buy them slightly over size. More trapped insulating air that way.

I read that these (softie trousers) should be ordered a size smaller as they are a big fit, I can't seem to find a small anywhere! I'm a 30-32" waist with a 36" leg. Can only find medium and large, obviously don't get skinny lanky squaddies! :lmao:
