I thought I would have a go at crook making, for a good friend who has recently received the "Freedom of the city of London". I had a nice piece of Hazel, which I debarked, cut to a suitable length and sanded smooth. I had never made Crook before and had no traditional materials to hand, so looking through my scrap bin, I found a piece of 25mm Birch ply. After cutting out the shape of the crook on the bandsaw, I filed and sanded it to it's final shape. I also used a piece of antler as a spacer and a 6" M10 threaded rod to join it all together. The finish is a mixture of bees wax and turps. Thanks for looking.
