memory map - track & route

The basic difference is that a route is where you want to go and a track is where you have been.

Normally you create a route to follow using MM and upload it to your GPS, then the GPS creates the track as you go, this can be downloaded back into MM to see how closely you followed your planned route etc.

I'm so glad somebody else answered this first before me , to me "Map Memory" means something totally different and it's something I haven't used properly since my days in the TA lol :D I'd have sounded a right wally going on about the sort of Map Memory I know about when it's not what you're even asking! lol :lmao:
