    August – Clouds up high

In the sky are balls of cloud, Little things that spin round and round. They slip and slide and blow and breeze, Throw shadows across the rolling ground. And every ball or bubble of cloud, Holds my eyes deeply spellbound, Flourescent, discounted, talking, listening, Turning, folding, dripping...

    British Army Self-Inflating Mats

Am I being a bit of an old tart? I want to get a self-inflating mat, but I don't want to spend shed loads on it. This is because it won't be used to sleep on, so much as to sit on and just chill out whilst out occasionally. Anyway. So I was looking at a British army self-inflating mat -...

The last three days I've had to fend for myself. Quite frankly, it's a miracle the whole place hasn't fallen apart. Must be because I decided to make the most of it and get out. Can't believe no one's mentioned the 58 mug yet. Those buggers are built like the proverbial. Admittedly, mine isn't 30 years old (it was bought new about 10-15 years ago), but I reckon it will outlive the planet. Dammit, I reckon I could build a whole city with it. And it'll still be good to go.

If you truly want to engage people in 'civil debate' you might want to lose that snide tone you have, not least because it's misplaced. A little bit of applied critical thinking would show that talking to someone as an equal is more likely to tease out further debate from them.

Plenty of adders up on the Downs today... And a quickly snatched picture of a buzzard as it launched from its perch (sorry about the poor quality - it was quick)...

I'm another titanium user (or 'titty' as I like to think of myself). I use a Toaks 750ml mug because it's very light and slides nicely underneath a 1L nalgene bottle. I also have a titanium gas burner (can't recall the name of it, got it from Alpkit) and a titanium spork (that purchase was...
