A year in the life of a forager....

Amazing post! Very informative with some lovely photos. Just gotten back from a short night-time coastal forage myself, snacked on sea lettuce, guttweed, bladder-wrack and raw limpets.

Oysters, jelly ears and curly kail

over the past couple of weeks ive indulged in plenty of shellfish (mussels, winkles, limpets and one piddock), a bit of seaweed that im still trying to get the hang of cooking, plenty of rock samphire, lots of sea beat and some some sea kale roots. the beach and ciffs near me are doing a good...

hey guys just confirming that i wont be able to make it. i did seriously consider walking, but with my non-kit pace it would take about 7 hours so with kit that would probably extend to 9 hours plus rain slows me down a bit which is likely so im looking at a walk that would have one or both ends...

Limpets - how to cook them?

in my experience with seafood, the best way to cook limpets is to not cook them. they are delicious raw and although still a bit chewy no where near as bad as when cooked. scoop it out the shell, chop of the gut sack, pull off the head and eat the foot.
