I agree with kepis, we don't actually know what the legislation's going to say yet, we need to wait and see.
I've always assumed that the vast majority of knife crime is carried out with kitchen knives already, whenever the police show pictures from weapons seizures it's usually: one machete, two sharpened screwdrivers, a homemade knuckleduster, and Sabatier's back catalogue... I haven't seen any...
Zombie knives are already defined and banned under existing legislation.

43° isn't that far North, most of Europe is more northerly than that (Bilbao and Marseille are both at pretty much 43°), making fire with a magnifying lense/parabolic mirror is perfectly viable way above 43° latitude.
They come in all sorts of colour options too and work well with NATO style straps. There's also a couple of metal cased versions with bracelet style straps if that's more your thing. Awesome watches, highly recommended.
Just don't wear it if you're visiting Guantanamo...
Very late reply I know, but just wanted to add another level of complication. Karrimor (the cheap nasty one) also do an "extreme" range, which is actually pretty good, I've had a pair of their merino long John's for a good three years now and they're still in good condition.
