Humans post ice age within the UK

I really don't recommend the Homo Britannicus book - it was a real disappointment. Far better is Britain BC.

    Marttinii Knives?

I have one of their pukkos. It's a nice knife but I'm not attached to it for some reason and it never gets in to the user pile

Estonia Kit List - Comments Please

You'll need to keep a close eye on the weather. I know Estonia has different weather to here but I've seen snow and -15 in late March and also bright sun and close to +20

    Straight razor shaving

You can pick up straight razors that use disposable blades (a DE blade snapped in half) very cheaply on E-bay and they're good to give it a go.

Battle Re- enactors and Living history

I used to be involved in American civil war reenactment - more than a decade ago now. It was with various groups and I gradually migrated to groups worried more about a campaign impression and authenticity. The trouble with later periods is that the kit lists to be more authentic can get huge...

    Belarus & Sweden camping

I don't recommend going to Belarus. Not the safest country to visit. The forest Ray Mears visited there spreads over the border into Poland.

Any bushcraft plans for 2012? I'm trying to get out and do more this year. I didn't manage a lot last year sadly.

    Recomend me a Journal

I had a larger Moleskine journal that fell apart; I mostly use smaller ones (like mini excercise books) now. Moleskines are ok, as are Field Notes. For a more substantial journal WH Smiths do some nice ones with leather covers.

    Recommend a camping pillow

Take a box of wine. Drink the wine. Take the bag out. Use it as a pillow. You've now got an adjustable inflatable pillow and a couple of litres of wine in you, you're certain to sleep well. :)

lofty wiseman survival tool 8 inch??

+1 It's heavy, thick, poor steel, heavy, has a bad sheath, has a bad handle and is heavy. I had one. I sold it. Postage cost a bit as it was so heavy. Buy 5 machetes for the same price, they'll work just as well, if not better, and probably weigh the same. NB: Mine was the older version

throw away your mower and get a scythe

My 75 year old grandmother was recently doing it for her 30 something neighbours; they'd got a scythe and couldn't work it out so she took over.

    Shotgun license interview help

Good luck with it, being a member of any shooting club/syndicate/society is worth mentioning. Different regions can have very different views. I was involved in black powder reenactment (yes, BP muzzle loaders still need to be licensed) and in Cambridgeshire the police would say one thing...
