    Choice of stove for Canada

Thanks all. A meths burner is my preference and mine was so only a couple of quid, so I'll take my chance with the airlines. Won't risk the (empty) fuel bottle though.

    Choice of stove for Canada

Does anybody know if methylated spirits (i.e. denatured alcohol) is readily available in Canada and northern United States? I'm off to Toronto (from there traveling across and down to Maine) in a week or so and I am wondering what stove to take with me. I also have the propane gas-type.

Stainless steel billy cans and mug

Zebra billy can, 12 cm and 14 cm 12 cm has been used once on an open fire and a couple more times on a stove. The handle has been removed for ease of storage, although it's been done in a way so that it can still be used (very clever). Will fit in the billy if you leave out the internal dish...

    Canada tree field guide recommendations

Hi - I'm off to Ontario in the summer and was looking for some recommendations of good tree field guides. I had a quick look on Amazon and came across the National Audubon guides. I'll be tackling some long-distance trails though, and am conscious of carrying a brick...
