Who’s Going to the First Summer Moot at Rough Close?

We'll be there again this year. Hoping to find a place on the woodland edge which can accommodate hammocks and tents since both my boys have decided to try out ground dwelling this year!

A few of the workshops expect at the Moot

Rope twisting machine sounds really interesting. I did a little workshop on nettle cordage with the scouts a couple of weeks ago. It would be nice to see the next level to this.

Does this mean that there's somewhere local that we can get our wild swim fix from? We're going to miss the sea swimming.

    FIRES at Summer BushMoot 2022

Anyone got any tips on Dutch oven cooking without an open fire? I’ve got a campingaz gas stove as alternative heat source, but never tried proper cooking on it before. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hello from Bolton

Hi everyone. We came along to Bushmoot for the first time a couple of years ago. I have three kids, ages 10-13 now. I came to Bushmoot through foraging and permaculture. In the past few years, I've done my Forest School Leader training, but mostly enjoyed doing my bushcraft competency training...

I also do DBS as part of my job working with kids. The certificates are transferable, but it depends on the job description and the level. Eg an enhanced DBS for a teacher should be accepted by scouts. But a dbs listing a job as an accountant wouldn’t be accepted. (The police only disclose...

Yeah, you’re probably right. But it’s a vast estate and the landowner is the council, so has very little interest in it. If you’re not comfortable with harvesting wood, you could bring your own along? Or just focus on different sskills like shelter building and knots? Sent from my iPhone using...
