    Wilderness Gathering?

Our tribe had a great time this year. We haven't been for a couple of years and the addition of music really was the icing on the top of an already great time :D Didn't really do very much, but it was nice just to wander, drink tea/beer/wine/cider and watch the fire burn. Far too many photos...

Advice please - unforeseen problems printing photos

Hi Elines, my guess would be the image dimensions will be too small for a decent print. As a very rough rule of thumb, for web images you should look for images at around 72 pixels per inch (PPI), whilst for printing, you would aim for around 300 PPI (it's not that clear cut, but it's a good...

Bernie Garland blade in a local wood handle

A friend of mine asked if I could put a knife together for him... There was a bit of a underlying reason for this, as he is a druid and wanted a knife for ceremonial use, as well as cutting up sandwiches, small branches, string etc... After making sure that no goats/virgins would be sacrificed...

    England to Norway. Fingers crossed…..

The Trollstigvägen! An awesome, if scary road... Trollstigvägen by Glyn Smith, on Flickr Trollstigvägen by Glyn Smith, on Flickr The Lærdal Tunnel was also pretty spectacular - 15 miles driving underground... Hmmmm. Really, really need to go back to Norway

    England to Norway. Fingers crossed…..

Fantastic news if it actually happens. Scandinavia is uncomfortably too far by car from the usual Calais/Dunkerque crossings, and we usually end up doing a tour around Brussels as we usually miss the exit for the ringroad on the Autoroute :-(

    Quality on a budget

You may struggle to find any new DSLR for under £200, especially if you want a lens with that. I wouldn't dismiss the second hand route out of hand - I sold my spare camera last year, a Nikon D100, complete with lens, external flash, tripod and bag for under £200. It may not have been cutting...

Already got my name in for the October meet. I'm hoping to get to the November one as well, but will know nearer the time. All we need now is a crisp, bright Autumn to enjoy the woods :-)

    What bird is this?

Another 'What's my animal thread?'... We saw this wheeling around the skies yesterday in sunny Derbyshire. I'm sure it's a dead easy one, unfortunately my bird identification usually can just about manage a robin, or possible a chicken (if it's wrapped in bacon)...
