Is Truffle hunting possible in Scotland?

And of course, they aren't very fast runners either with those tiny legs :lmao: I'm actually looking to get into fungi so that I can combine them with fish once I get a start on at bushcraft. Maybe even apply for a cooking course at college and do it for a living, haha - Who knows, I still...

Pretty decent looking for the price. Plus that opinel would go well with a red deer antler as a handle (I've been looking for a knife that would fit well and look right for a while now). Cheers

Title speaks for it self. Though, I'm specifically looking for something on the cheap side of things... as long as it does the job, I don't mind what it is. I'm mainly wanting it for everything - filleting fish, cutting fungi, sharpening things. Direct links to websites would be great. Cheers :o

    Galloways Forest

A little off topic from what you're asking, but this might be something you're interested in http://www.gallowaywildfoods.com/learn-to-forage/foraging-events-calendar/ I'm considering going to the one in Glasgow

    Events (Scotland)

Oft, that picture looks amazing! I'll definitely check out those places and see what they're like. To start of I'll do what you said and just venture into my local woods in Renfrew. As I said in my reply to Polecatsteve, I'll probably start of with small things and takes pictures of my progress...

    Events (Scotland)

Yeah, don't get me wrong, the videos have given me a wealth of knowledge and information so far - It's just so frustrating looking at it all and not actually acting on it. I'm thinking of doing exactly that at least for March at the latest though. I was thinking about working on a half lean...

Is Truffle hunting possible in Scotland?

Well, dissapointing that we don't have truffles here. I agree with what you're saying though. :) I've been doing a lot of looking into some things and I've become interested in fungi just in general (Of course along with the seafood stuff as you know)

Is Truffle hunting possible in Scotland?

Title speaks for itself really. I would ask for the whole of Britain, but I really doubt that I would travel beyond where I live (Scotland). I've been looking into doing this http://www.gallowaywildfoods.com/learn-to-forage/foraging-events-calendar/ which has been making me interested in Fungi...
