Hi

First post from another Stroudie! I am selling my Terra nova solar 1 to put towards a tenttipi, hoping to get it soon and set up somewhere locally for a night.

If only it was permitted to camp in Cranham Woods! Went for a short walk there on Sunday and caught sight of a Dear. Its a beautiful woodland but FC owned and managed unfortunately - though I did see a while ago that part of the woodland came up for sale. Details escape me and I've no idea who the purchasers were.

Hi Miniwisk and welcome:) I'm a newbie myself.

The Cranham woods are nice but where is a spot away from the road? I have camped at the campsite...he's a nice old farmer, but this time of year it fills up with caravaners:red:

I just had to use that icon!

Hi Miniwisk, and a warm welcome from me.
If you're interested, a couple of us meet up in a pub in Quedgeley. You're quite welcome along on the next one. That also includes Highfield and Lab72 of course, and also anyone else who wants to sink a pint of whatever and chat bushcraft.

not sure if anyone has bought cranham as the sale included the saw mill.

there used to be a free site up standish linked in to the cotswold way but the kids ruined it so its shut now and you have to use the farm nearby. cranham and surroundings has lots of patches good for training/practise/foraging though and some very good pubs. cranham isnt so good for guerrilla camping as there are too many 4x4 dog walkers but you can go off the tracks and find a few quite spots.

there's certainly enough of us in the area to make a go of it now compared to a few years back.

if you want a cool place to meet up socially then the slimbridge beerfest is a good idea.

Hi all, I'm currently living near cirencester and was wondering if anyone would be able to give me the chance to come and set some snares on their land so I can have some bunnies for the pot? Thanks in advance.
