You really, really do not want France....
Many French live there.
Alsace and Lorraine - ok..... just change the name back. Good food, good wine, nice forests for hiking.

Is not most UK military kit made in UK? That is usually of fantastic quality!

We should not forget the makers on this Forum.
The wild Scot with Medusa hair has been mentioned, but there are also blacksmiths here, plus a seamster. ( male version of seamstress?)
Plus wood artisans.
Custom work is usually of superior quality, and it is made exactly how you like it.

Cheap in the long run.

Yes, you are right, Janne. I have seen a lot of French people in France, that's true! And unfortunately everybody speaks French.

Perhaps we should better develop the GDR. That's enough to do for the next 500 years....

Do the British military equipment producers sell theyr stuff to everybody? (I don't mean a tank, currently It's to cold and whet in France to conquer it, and alone I dont want to do it.) German and Austrian stuff you usually can buy, to buy French stuff is very complicated.

So far I am informed, Germany currently doesn't plan to start an invasion to Britain.

But being a civilian of course I can't be 100% sure about it.

May be they think about, because our government could be afraid that the delivery of Scottish Whiskey could become interrupted, if Britain should leave the European Union without a trading contract.

We never know!

But I asure you, that I only asked about British outdoor stuff, because I am personally interested in it. Unfortunately nobody pays me for playing around in this forum.

Would I have been asked, which country Germany should try to conquer, I would vote for France instead of Britain, because the weather is better there and I think the kitchen too.

But currently it's far easier and cheaper to go there for holydays.

Fair enough, I just can’t imagine anyone from this side of the channel joining a German forum to ask a similar question unless they were putting together some kind of academic or business database but hey, whatever gets you through those long, dark winter nights.

FWIW, if you are using this forum as a cunning means of learning our island ways for some ulterior motive, bear in mind that north of Hadrian’s wall including an “e” in that nation’s favourite tipple ( other than Irn Bru), is still a capital offence!

As for invading France - I think you know the way! ;)

Yes, of course I know the way.

First intermission for a pee at the gas station of Moulhouse, the coffee is good and cheap.
Should you come from Colone, don't forget to buy cigarettes in Luxemburg.

Never order a coffee in Metz in front of the bridge in the nice looking bar, the water they use from the pipe of the apartment on top of it. Best coffe is sold next to the entrance of the cathedral in the bakery.

The Schlieffen Plan was nothing against my knowledge of the circumstances and the whole strategie.

Do they still make any decent knives in Sheffield? Fixed blades?
I have not heard anybody mentioning Sheffield here on Forum.

Sweden is a knife country ( outside the cities) and we have maybe 3 or 4 factories left the rest is gone.
Artisans yes lots, just like in UK.

There are a few small manufacturers - for example Michael May. All his knives claim to be hand crafted; even his Damascus steel is forged in Sheffield. A Wright & Sons still produce fixed blade and folding knives in Sheffield; I'm sure there are lots more.

Erbwurst, I have no idea whether this really is thorough Teutonic logistics or just an example of that famous wacky sense of humour you guys are famous for but have a “like” from me!

PS would you mind awfully if I were to sit on “your” sun lounger at some time if you are not actually using it? ;)

My favorite sun loungers are the blue chairs standing along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice.

I love to sit in France, looking over the Mediterranean Sea, an Italian town in the back, while having a proper conversation in Oxford English.

It's really nice in Nice!

I do not get hung up about whether something is British or not, if it is quality and genuinly comes from the country of origin. Tilley hat, made in Canada, SAK made in Switzerland, Condor knife made in El Salvador, Seiko watch made in Japan (caution, not all of them are) etc etc. It is when old well known and respected companies manufacture stuff in the Far East that I object pretending they still come from the same place as they always did, Silva compasses being a case in point.

BTW lots of cutlers still in Sheffield, I know Jack Adams are still there, his sons keeping up the company, they apparantly supply the steel for a lot of other makers too.
