Hi...following on from the axe bag I wanted to make for myself I've now made this for my British Army basha as the standard issue ones are completely carp as everyone knows...ok, they're small and light but they're also slippery, too small, difficult to use and to me, not good enough as I've always wanted something that will also contain my tent pegs...and the standard ones are not robust enough to have semi-sharp, angular, hard metal things shoved into them regularly.

So...this is only about 1.5 inches longer and unless you're going to be climbing everest every day, the weight difference is not going to be noticed whatsoever. It has a pocket on the front large enough to accomodate more than enough tent pegs and the front flap can be gripped whilst stuffing in your tarp, which makes it a lot easier and theres still room left over for those who like to keep their paracord attached to their tarp. Two 1-inch straps (which go all the way round the bag and are firmly stitched onto the back) not only aid with compression but also form the flap closure which then contains the tarp and also covers up the ends of the pegs. It's made of waterproof 7oz camo cordura and everything is double to quadruple stitched with olive Gutermann upholstery thread (specially for Sir Bilmo) on one of my MANLY Singer 201's....:p

Hope you like, comments appreciated!

Regards,

Sonni

That's getting to be an awful long list, Sonni! :)

That's a much more sensible thing than those flimsy tiny good-for-nothing silnylon bags that just slip out of your grasp all the time and protect nothing. I like to have tarp, pegs and cordage in one strong container, and that looks the business; you going to do 'em in plain og and a brown of some sort? Another thing just struck me, pegs downward, this'd also serve as a good kneeler, eh?

hi....thanks everyone....

yup mac, i'll be making other material variations at some point....i used this for now as its great stuff - waterproof, tough etc..., nice to work with and i've got a fair bit of it.

as for price warrior, i really dont know....same as for the bags i've made recently....things/situations like this are always tough because at first, as a newbie, everything takes twice as long....any input appreciated!

regards
