Ayup mate long time no speak.

I wouldnt have a clue on the Sat phone side of things, i guess it would depend on the model.
If it were a normal phone you would have had to have something installed first that would report its GPS details or similar to a central place where you could retrieve it.

Unless a sat phone has a GPS locator or is SARSAT/COSPAS compatible it can't be tracked. Ground mobiles can be located by the service provider using signal properties to (very) roughly triangulate the position. This is how the police and Mountain Rescue find missing people. Unfortunately, sat phones work to a single geo-stationary satellite, so this doesn't work.

You should have installed a program like Cerberus or other such security software. That way you could get a GPS position of the device any time you wanted. You could have also taken pictures/videos from front/back cameras, audio recordings or for a laugh set off an screaming alarm :D

Originally the H.O. system was called Tetris, though they may have changed it. The system is run by Hutchison Telecom, who are the provider for Orange Mobile Phones. If you've ever had an Orange phone, you'll know exactly what the problems are.

I remember it as Tetra and it was first run in the UK by Dolphin who were later absorbed into the Hutchison group. I was interested in it's features specifically P2P before I even knew it was going to be called P2P or that we were getting Airwave, locally there was discussion about Project Millenium (long time ago!) On the whole Airwaves is a better system than the UHF, but only if the renting agency buys all of the features. Waiting for a gap to P2P used to do my head in!
