Bushcrafter (boy, I've got a lot to say!)
Just torn another pair of combats so I need a new pair of trousers for around the garden / estate. I like combats as they are comfy and have plenty of pockets. I also like more unusally / less standard camo (do not like real tree etc) as interesting patterns- think it must be a hangover from my tiedye days. So any suggestion for "exotic" camo that has an interesting pattern (and where to get them wit hout paying more than about £30). Ideas so far:

Danish
Swedish
Cadpat (woodland as already got arid - great summer trousers and easily over dyed)
Auscam - jelly bean
Like Polish urban flecktarn but can not find it

Have you tried the German Flecktarn its dirt cheap and you should be able to get it at most Army Surplus stores!

It depends what size you are
The "Professional" armies of the world tend to employ fit, active youngsters and their uniforms are biased towards that physique. There are those countries who buck the trend though, and obviously the fashion market is onto a good deal in certain areas. Eastern European Camo is often interesting but can be of poorer quality material.

Multicam is a very interesting pattern, and you probably wont see anybody else wearing it either. Its a multi purpose pattern from some DARPA research programme that never got adopted by the US army.

totally agree Greg!

Large sizes, very well made (best IMHO) and VERY comfy. Green moleskins are to die for!

You could try sumpftarn (aka sumpfmuster), Austrian Camo, or maybe try dyeing desert DPM or flecktarn. Russian tiger stripe is worth a look as well.
Sumpftarn is a good pattern, though my Mil-tec trousers are fading quite fast. Danish cam is good, but the real thing is very expensive and you can't get good copies of the pattern because the Danish government owns the copyright.
