It's results time again.

I didn't do so well this year, just two commended which will see them into the book but no real prizes.

I've always liked this one and have entered it four years running but it never got short-listed.

This time I went back to the original file and reworked it from scratch.

It's not hugely different from the original but it must have caught someone's eye because it has got through and will be in the exhibition and the book this year.

This one was a new entry but again a reworking, in monochrome, of an image which I have in colour on my site.

From what I hear, both will be in the book, one will be printed for the exhibition and the other just projected. I don't know which will be on the wall.

I really must get out and take some more pictures though, I've been letting it slip a bit with work being so busy of late.

Like the second one Wayland. Reminds me of my Ilford Comp days and many a happy hour in the darkroom burning in corners and dodging highlights...Not quite the same with photoshop...

Darkrooms have really become the preserve of specialist art photographers these days, such a shame, as the finished result on thick paper and depth of tone just doesnt work electronically...

very impressed as always with your images...

I know what you mean about the demise of the silver print. My computer is now sitting under my old enlarger and the benches still have a slight whiff of hypo about them.

I still miss seeing an image materialise in a dish of developer but I don't miss the cost of failed prints or the metol dermatitis that used to plague me.

Cracking pics Gary, good to hear they've had some recognition again.

Talking about darkrooms, I salvaged all my gear from my parents house this summer and ended up skipping the lot because nobody was interested. I even tried a couple of local photgraphy clubs but they said they didn't have the time or space to have a play. Understandable but still a shame.
