Hi all, I haven't posted a lot on this forum, since my English ain't that good (I'm Belgian), and I visited another forum a lot more . I've read about everything on the forum (a dutch one), so I'll be visiting this forum more often from now on.
When I practice my firecrafting-skills, I'd like to use natural materials, like birch bark, dry grass, old mans beard etc. Every time I go to Sweden I collect a pile of Old Mans Beard to practice with at home.
Today I noticed that this rope, which is tied around catpoles, has nearly the same characteristics as Old Mans Beard, which makes it a great 'fake' tinder to train with. Made a short video of me getting an ember with a bowdrill and using the rope as tinder. regards
