    Solar powered generators

Just looked at some of the prices for these generators and I am amazed how expensive they are. So definitely beyond my price range, well the more practical sizes anyway. Thanks for the replies

    Solar powered generators

I hope this is the right section. Any body tried a solar generator, if so what do you think. I have been looking at a small one just to keep gadgets charged. Jackery, Ecoflow and Bluetti spring to mind, around 300 watt ac outputs.

    Faraday cage

Having delved into the subject a bit more I think I`ll just wrap in kitchen foil, which does seem to block mobile phone signals.

    Faraday cage

I thought it was a frequency thing. I see some homemade cages on ytube so thought I would give it a try. Only tin I had was an old bread tin. I might try an old ammo tin which will probably seal better as the lid pulls down tight. And the bread was gobbled up a long time ago !!!!

    Faraday cage

Just knocked up a faraday cage from an old metal bread tin. Made the lid a good fit and managed to get an electrical fit, and the tin conducts current all round. Now whilst it seems to block mobile phone signals it does not block 2 way radios. I assume there is a good technical reason for this...

Any experience with Cold Steel Kobun knife?

I purchased a Kobun during the first lockdown. I quite fancied the look of the knife. Very pleased with the knife, as I have small hands it seemed to suit well. A very light tool and quite sharp out of the box, but not a razor. Tried it in the kitchen and slices pretty well. All in all a fair...

    Slingshot channel

Has anybody watched this channel on Youtube. Just found it a couple of days ago. I think he is German. Some of the inventions are really mad, but he is a clever chap.

    Maxpedition

Although a newbie in the forum I have had for a few years a Maxpedition Proteus waist bag. Now, it is a well made bag but the main compartment opening is very restrictive for larger items. Would members advise keeping or perhaps look for something else. I quite like the looks of the Helikon...

    Leather knife sheath maker

I have made several leather sheaths for my knives and it can be quite an involved process with measurements and the retention system required. Also in what position you want to carry the knife.

Many thanks for the welcome. Yes some seem to be able to perform well even in old age, unfortunately I am not one of the lucky ones.
