Thanks Stew, no tempering process happened, whole thing was done in the workshop while we helped. You are correct, no handle was fitted while there, just wrapped in newspaper and back into the Tuk Tuk for the return journey. As the steel is unknown, I'm guessing for a general large slashing...

Can anyone recommend a good padded waist belt for an external frame? All the Molle II belts are in America as far as Ebay are able to say, anyone know anywhere in the UK that stocks them or are there any better ones to go for?
