Was in a similar predicament last year in relation wether to go for a no.8 smock. Having tried on a number of jackets I ended up going for a Swazi Kagoule. Definitely worth considering. Have been out in torrential wind rain and snow and have been completely dry. Also extremely hard wearing.
Fully appreciate the cartoon and understand the reasoning. Still completely undecided. Unfortunately will be buying blind as no where to try on this side of the water.
Thanks for the reply. I currently have a number of Fjällräven trousers and know that once worn in and waxed noise shouldn’t be too bad. But I understand what you are saying about the G1000 material.
Hi there currently trying to decide between the Fjällräven no8 smock or the Swazi Aegis Kagoule. I know both are completely different but if you had an option what one would you choose? Will be used for stalking and general mountain duties.
Many thanks
Chris.
Majority of people coarse fishing accept that it is catch and release for coarse species. At no point did I say it can’t be tabled just that people tend not too.
No perch would not be a table (pan) fish. Most people fishing for coarse fish would fish catch and release but there are always the exceptions. Unlike with yourselves our sea specifies are not called game species but a number of them would be table fish when caught.
A very long time lurker. Thought it was about time to take the plunge. Love anything outdoors and where better to learn skills and gain information than from like minded people.
Think about using a swim feeder. Colder weather could be potentially pushing fish deeper. Also the benefit of a bit of extra bait around the hook bait can encourage feeding.
