I love this. Like a miniature museum of technical curiosities. I am wondering how you fit a pole-lathe in the "Bodging" drawer though...

Just picked up a nice old wrench that matches nicely with my favourite "perfect handle" turnscrews.

This is exactly the sort of quality tool I want to keep in this chest.

Square-Chuck-Handle.jpg

This fellow I picked up a while ago at the Green Man festival in 2016. It has a chuck for square shanked bits, maximum 3/16ths” ( 5mm ) across the flats but that could be ground out of a 1/4” ( 7mm ) round shaft.

The hollow handle will take a maximum length of 2 1/2” ( 65mm ). The only bit that came with it is a simple spike but I’m thinking I could grind a few drill bits to fit and maybe an old screw driver or two.

I have something"similar" (not as robust), there are a selection of bits with it, Ill look it out and try a photo of them for interest.

there are two screwdrivers and a straight awl (but that has been altered in the past, so may have been something else) there is a countersink borer on the right..
There's space for other bits, so may have been others before I got it.

I need to take a closer look as in my fathers tool chest that I dug out as a result of this thread is.......... a thing that looks like the countersink. it might have a square or hex shave and at forst I thought a tile borer or for starting holes in tiles.

Sadly there is no tool that it goes with!!!!!!!
