i cut small pieces from local woods most days im walking the dog for ferro rod tops, hazel, holly, hawthorn these about 4 or 5 years ago so well seasoned.
this one from a buddleia tree is rather pretty!

thanks, the stems have a lot of pith and are pretty plain though a nice creamy colour. not sure of the right terminology? but inside the 'joint' where the limb stems from the branch is where i found the pretty one so no pithNice. I never thought of buddleia for that kind of thing but it looks great. How tough is the wood?
