I had the pleasure of spending the weekend with my good friend Mark Aspell from Wilderness Pioneers.

We had a good wander around one of his sites, escaped from the wind chill to enjoy a brew in a rather fine paleo shelter. Not dissimilar to those constructed in the bush. Hazel frame with woven reed panels for thatching and biomass to insulate.

It’s a lovely woodland with diverse trees and fauna. All levels of plant life on show. Good ground cover, herb layers up to coppice and some nice standards.

At the Bushmoot Beth and I cooked a rather large curry for the group meal. Mark noted we were struggling to stir the food and set about quietly crafting a solution.

He presented me with a rather wonderful paddle with my logo pyrographed onto it.

Thanks all, it was fun to make actually and great to have you all.

It's about 2 1/2 foot long and about 4 or 5 inches at the widest point
The pot is probably 14 or 15 inches deep so standard catering spoons just weren't big enough
I thought this would be long enough to get 2 hands on and practice your J stroke whilst making dinner!

What a lovely gift to receive.

Is there any particular aspect of the design that is specifically optimized for stirring goulash?
